PROFOUND ROCK ‘N WINE

Thinking of minerality in wines means describing something magic. It can trigger special moments, the memory of light and the fragrance of indigenous terroirs. Minerality is so difficult to put into words that, when all is said and done, at least it brings meaning to the fascinating and elegant world of fine wines.

Bibi Graetz - Bugia 2015

A white from the island of Giglio that shows so much depth and layers that it reminds me of top Burgundy. Full to medium body, polished and very long. Shows a class and uniqueness that only that island can deliver. Drink or hold.

James Suckling Score: 93

Bibi Graetz - Soffocone Di Vincigliata 2014

A silky and refined red with plum, berry and cherry character. Medium body and a fresh finish. Shows finesse and beauty. Lively acidity. Best ever. All the Testamatta and Colore is declassified into this. Wow. Drink or hold.

James Suckling Score: 94

Bibi Graetz - Testamatta 2015

Very aromatic and exciting with citrus rind, plum, cedar and rose petal. Full body, fine and silky tannins and a long and beautiful finish. Love the persistence and intensity. Salty undertone at the end. Needs two to three years to open.

James Suckling Score: 97

Bibi Graetz - Colore 2011

This is opulent and fresh with cedar, berry, tobacco and orange peel aromas and flavors. Medium body, firm tannins and a flavorful finish. Precise and powerful center palate. Fabulous length. A blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino. Better in 2019.

James Suckling Score: 98
